In the days before mechanized refrigeration, insulated wood boxes outfitted with large blocks of ice served as cold storage in the kitchen. We repurposed the characteristic icebox design for use in the bedroom or playroom, building our storage pieces with rounded corners, strap hinges and oversized latches that close with magnets.
